Immunization Policy

  • We firmly believe in the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent serious illnesses and save lives.
  • We firmly believe in the safety of our vaccines.
  • We firmly believe that all children and young adults should receive the recommended vaccines according to the schedule published by the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
  • We firmly believe, based on all available literature, evidence and current studies, that vaccines do not cause autism or other developmental disabilities.
  • We firmly believe that thimerosal, a preservative that has been in vaccines for decades does not cause autism or other developmental disabilities.
  • We firmly believe that vaccinating children and young adults is the single most important intervention we perform as health care providers.

At Premier Pediatrics of Houston, we feel strongly that vaccinating children on schedule with currently available vaccines is absolutely the right thing to do for all children and young adults. However, should you have doubts, please discuss these with us in advance of your visit, we may slightly alter the schedule. If you absolutely refuse to vaccinate your child, we ask that you seek care with a provider who shares your views.

Here at Premier Pediatrics of Houston, we follow the immunization guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. We are committed to quality health care and we believe strongly in the safety, effectiveness, and the importance of these vaccines. Please note that this schedule is subject to change when the American Academy of Pediatrics updates its recommendations. We will inform you of these changes as they occur.

Over-the-Counter Medication Dosing

Ibuprofen and acetaminophen are over-the-counter pain and fever reducers. Fever is the body’s normal response to infections and is usually not a cause for concern. Treating your child's fever with acetaminophen or ibuprofen can make your child more comfortable but will not make the infection go away any faster.
